Description: |
Terrestrial herb 50-130 cm tall growing from subterranean fleshy rhizome; leaves several in grass-like tuft, 30-140 x 0.6-1.4 cm, linear, plicate, partly to fully developed at flowering time; inflorescence laxly few to several flowered; scape stout with several loose sheaths; sepals brownish, petals and lip pink or white tinged mauve; bracts 5-10 mm long; ovary and pedicel 13-20 mm long, ovary starting to swell before flowers have faded; sepals all similar, erect, spathulate, dorsal sepal 14-20 x 4-5.5 mm, lateral sepals 16-20 x 2-5.5 mm; petals 14-18 x 6.5-10 mm, ovate, projecting over column; lip 18-20 x 9.5-13.5 mm, 3-lobed; mid-lobe 7-9 x 6 mm with 3-5 crests of long, fimbriate outgrowths, the middle one usually better developed than outer ones, margins undulate (wavy), side lobes erect; spur 5-7.5 mm long, conical with blunt apex. |
