Description: |
Erect perennial, often with numerous ribbed stems up to 35 cm high growing from a woody rootstock. Leaves linear to oblong-lanceolate, up to 2 cm long, sometimes longer when protected from fire, scabrously hairy, 3-5-veined from the base; veins prominent beneath; margin entire or with a few distant teeth. Inflorescence of dense subglobose heads at the ends of branches. Capitula hemispheric, up to 5 mm in diameter. Involucral bracts up to 4.5 mm long, irrEgularly serrate. Florets yellow, c. 3.5 mm long. Achns ellipsoid, 1 mm long, hairy and sometimes glandular; pappus of 15-25 whitish barbellate setae. |
