Annual or perennial herbs. Leaves alternate. Capitula numerous, usually in dense terminal, subspherical corymbs. Capitula hemispheric, heterogamous; disciform or radiate. Phyllaries 1-3-seriate, subequal. Florets yellow, ray florets possessing very short rays. Achenes obovoid or ellipsoid, pubescent and often glandular. Setae of pappus barbellate. Worldwide: 13 species, tropical and southern Africa. Burundi: 3 taxa. |
