Description: |
Shrub or small evergreen tree with spreading, drooping branches. Leaves alternate, oblong, 7-16 cm long, leathery and very glossy above; margin sharply toothed wit the forward pointing teeth; petiole up to 1.2 cm long. Flowers in short axillary inflorescences up to 2 cm long. Sepals 4-5, orbicular, 1.5-3.5 mm wide. Petals whitish-green, about twice the size of the sepals; stamens numerous, c. 8 mm long, white. Fruit globose, c. 2.5 cm in diameter, style persistent as a short point, yellow when ripe. |
