Terrestrial herb 30-60 cm tall; tubers ovoid, 2-5 cm long, villous; leaves 2, basal, appressed to the ground, heart-shaped, 3-6.5 x 3.5-7 cm; stem leaves sheathing, 4-7, scattered along stem; inflorescence 11-17 x 3-6 cm, laxly 20 flowered; bracts 11-14 cm long; ovary and pedicel 23-30 mm long; flowers sweetly scented, sepals green, petals and lip white; dorsal sepal erect, 9-12 x 4-6 mm, ovate, convex; lateral sepals reflected, 8-15 x 2.5-4 mm, rolled lengthways; petals 9-12 x 3-5 mm, entire, falcate, acute, adnate to dorsal sepal; lip 3-lobed  to base; mid-lobe 16-18 x 0.5 mm, linear, apex bent forward; side lobes 12-15 x 3-5 mm, oblanceolate, acute; side lobes 14-19 x 3-9 mm, obliquely oblanceolate, acute; spur 8-9 mm long, swollen at apex; anther 3.5 mm high, canals 1.5 mm long; stigmatic arms c. 5 mm long.
