Description: |
Twining climber or large liane with wiry, woody, reddish-brown stems up to 20 m long. Milky latex present. Leaves opposite, narrowly linear, 3-9 cm long, hairless. Inflorescences in many-flowered heads on peduncles up to 2 cm long. Sepals broadly ovate to sub-orbicular, c. 1 mm long and wide. Corolla cream-white, sometimes tinged violet(?) with widely spreading linear-ovate lobes 3–4 mm long, fringed with long hairs. Follicles spreading horizontally narrowly cylindrical-ovoid, 6–12(16) cm long and 4–5 mm wide. |
