Description: |
Robust perennial 0.6-2.1 m tall, the base swollen, forming an irregularly shaped knot. Leaves 30-60 cm long, 5-8 mm wide, scabrid on margins and ribs, sparsely to densely hairy beneath; sheaths hairy. Inflorescence of a terminal and 2-3 lateral panicles placed singly at thenodes. Nutlets more than 1.5 mm wide, glabrous, white or greyish with blackish-blue apex. |
