Slender perennial 0.2─1.2 m tall; culms glabrous or hairy, slightly swollen at the base, producing up to 4 stolons. Leaves mostly produced at or near the base of the culm, glabrous to densely hairy; ligule a dense rim of short hairs. Inflorescences spicate, 6─18 cm long, with many reflexed glomerules; glumes reddish brown to black. Nutlet white, obovoid. |
