Description:
Large evergreen tree. Leaves simple or sometimes lobed; petiole up to 7 cm; lamina 20-40 × 7.5-18 cm, elliptic to obovate, shiny, dark green, thickly textured. Flowers and fruit borne on the trunk and large branches. Male spikes to 10 cm; female. Fruit very large, up to 60 cm, cylindric to ellipsoid, with a prickly surface.
