Description: |
Large evergreen tree to 25 m. Trunk buttressed and with spreading surface roots. Leaves: petiole up to 9 cm long; lamina large, 11-30 × 5-15 cm, ovate, thickly-textured, almost plastic-like, shiny green above, paler matt green beneath, glabrous; apex acuminate. Fruit 10-15 mm long × 8-10 mm in diameter, sessile, elongated, almost cylindric, borne on a pronounced ‘pedestal’. |
