Description:
Liane growing up to 14 m high. Stems armed with hooked prickles, becoming enlarged corky bosses on older stems. Leaves bipinnate up to 30 cm long, armed with hooked prickles, often in pairs, on rhachis and petiole; pinnae 4-10 pairs with each 6-8 pairs of elliptic-oblong leaflets, mostly hairless except on the midrib beneath. Flowers in terminal and lateral racemes, 5-40 cm long. Petals 7-9 mm long, almost round with a short claw, greenish-yellow to yellow. Pods elliptic-oblong, 6.5-14.5 cm long including a wing on the upper margin.
