Description: |
Terrestrial herb with numerous traps on the rhizome and stolons. Leaves usually not present when flowering but otherwise in a basal rosette and scattered along the stolons, linear to obovate-spathulate, 1-7 cm long. Inflorescence erect, 2-80 cm high, relatively robust, 2-8-flowered, rarely up to 50. Calyx lobes subequal, ovate, 2-3 mm long, plicate along the veins. Corolla violet, mauve or white, with a yellow spot on the palate and often a white or yellow spot on the lower lip, rarely all yellow or cream, 5-15 mm long; palate raised and with a double crest; spur often shorter than the lower lip, sometimes longer. Capsule globose, up to 2 mm long, dehiscent, along longitudinal slits with thickened margins. |
