Description:	Herb, 30-8o cm tall. Stem more or less 4-angled. Leaves along the stem, subsessile, opposite, very erect or appressed to the stem, linear-lanceolate, up to 11 cm long, 3-5-veined from the base. Inflorescence a terminal raceme, 10-20 cm long. Bracts broadly ovate-cordate, often connate, 5-8.5 mm long, hairless. Pedicels 4-11 mm long, hairless. Calyx 5-8 mm long with broadly ovate-triangular lobes, 1.5-3 mm long, obscurely veined, gland-dotted. Corolla 18-30 mm long with 5 more or less subequal lobes, pink to purple or blue, occasionally white. Style 16-18 mm long, bent at the tip and persistent in fruit. Capsule ovoid, 7-8 mm long.
