Description:
Much-branched perennial herb, up to 1.5 m. Leaves along the stems, linear; margins usually entire, rarely faintly toothed. Inflorescences in many-flowered terminal spikes. Flowers white with a brownish-orange throat. This species is somewhat similar to H. comosa, which usually has simple branches growing from a prostrate stem.
