Description:
Erect small shrub, up to c. 1 m high with usually rather long, slender, often reddish-brown branches. Milky sap present. Leaves opposite, ascending, elliptic-oblong or lanceolate, 2.5-5 cm long, dark green above, much paler beneath, hairless; petiole 1.2-2.5 cm long. Flowers in subaxillary, subsessile, 3-15-flowered, branched clusters; sepals oblong, minutely ciliate at the apex. Corolla campanulate, yellowish-green, hairless; corona-lobes inserted at the middle of the corolla-tube. Follicles diverging at an angle of about 80°, 7.5-11 cm long, narrowly fusiform, gradually tapering from about the middle to a subacute point, hairless.
