Description: |
Creeping perennial herb. All vegetative parts pilose. Stems up to 1 m. long or more, reddish, partly prostrate and rooting at and between nodes, partly ascending to erect and very leafy. Leaves broadly ovate or orbicular in outline, up to 4 cm in diameter, 5–9–lobed, cordate at base; margins coarsely toothed; petiole 1–4 cm long, slender. Flowers drooping, in 1–3(5)–flowered racemes. Calyx–segments ovate–lanceolate, the margins overlapping at the base, pilose, ciliate, more or less equalling corolla. Corolla campanulate, 3–5 mm long, white, hairless, deeply divided into rounded–triangular lobes. Capsule globose, c. 3 mm. in diameter, opaque and with a transparent wall at the base, creamy–white and splitting into 5 recurving teeth at the top. |
