Description: |
Shrub or tree up to 18 m high. Leaves pinnate; leaflets in 3-7 pairs, subsessile, elliptic-oblong, hairless when mature (sometimes sparsely pubescent when young); apex obtuse and often acuminate; margin crenate, shallowly dentate or entire; base othen somewhat asymmetric. Inflorescences in congested subspherical heads, 1.5-2 cm in diameter. Sepals 2-2.5 mm, greenish; petals absent. Fruit ellipsoid or nearly spherical, up to 2 × 1.5 cm long, yellow or pink, hairless. |

Derivation of specific name: | golungensis: named from Golungo Alto in Cuanza Norte province in Angola where the type specimen was collected. |
