Description:	Erect, somewhat spreading perennial herb, up to 1.2 m. Leaves simple, near linear to elliptic, apex mucronate, finely hairy with longer hairs on the undersurface. Inflorescences terminal, flowers purple with lighter, salmon-pink standard; calyx lobes pubescent and ciliate. Fruit 7-15 mm long, well exserted from the calyx, constricted between the seeds, surface fairly smooth with very obscure transverse ridges, mostly velvety.
