Description:
Perennial or decumbent annual herb, 10-70 cm tall. Leaves 2-foliolate, leaflets ovate-lanceolate, up to 4.5 cm long, more or less pubescent and gland-dotted on the lower surface; apex mucronulate. Inflorescences 4-20 cm long, terminal, flowers clasped between large green leaf-like ovate bracts. Standard white, yellow or orange with more or less red veining, sometimes crimson with a paler base; wings, pink, yellow or crimson. Pods 11-17 mm long in 3-5 constricted segments, covered in small spiny bristles.

Derivation of specific name: glochidiata: (the fruits) bearing minutely barbed bristles.
