Description: |
Perennial, usually with several erect, hollow, ribbed, appressed pubescent stems, usually 1–2 m tall. Leaves 3-foliolate (rarely 5); leaflets linear-lanceolate, oblanceolate-elliptic, elliptic or obovate, mostly 2–14 cm long, pubescent beneath; petiole 2–6 cm long; stipules linear-lanceolate, up to 9 mm long. Racemes many-flowered, 15–50 cm long; bracts linear-lanceolate, 6–11 mm long. Calyx 9–12 mm long, hairless or pubescent with triangular lobes more or less as long as the tube or longer. Standard subcircular, yellow, veined and suffused purplish at the base inside, hairless or with a few hairs at the apex outside; wings longer than the keel with a dark mark at the base; keel 1.2–1.5 cm long, with a short incurved twisted beak. Pod on a short stipe, broadly oblong-club-shaped, 4.5–6.5 cm long, hairless, c. 26–34-seeded. |
