Description: |
Bark prominently vertically and horizontally fissured with × rectangular plates. Leaves paripinnate with erect stalked glands on the rhachis between each pair of leaves. Leaf indumentum variable ranging from glabrous to hairy. |

Derivation of specific name: | singueana: from Singu in Ethiopia, where the type specimen was collected by Frederic Cailliaud (1787-1869) on his voyage up the Nile between 1819 and 1822. (Drummond, 1981) |
