Description:
Perennial herb with leafy shoots, 1.5-4 m tall, arising from extensive rhizomes. Inflorescences 4-10-flowered, arising at the base of the leafy shoots. Petals red. Labellum yellow or pale orange. Fruit ovoid to subglobose, 7-9.5 cm long, including the persistent calyx, red when ripe.
