Description: |
Perennial herb, up to 90 cm tall, growing from a short rhizome. Leaves several, mostly basal, about half as long as the stem, linear to narrowly lanceolate, 2.5-7 cm wide; stem leaves progressively shorter above. Stem mostly 2-6 branched, compressed, 2-angled but not winged; side branches fairly short, erect. Flowers more or less sessile in 4-14, 4-6-flowered clusters, blue. Spathes and bracts with entire to lightly lacerate margins when young, becoming more lacerate with age. Capsule 5-7 mm long, ovoid-obovoid. |
