Description: |
Aquatic herb to 50 cm. Leaves: petioles ± erect, 6-15 cm long; lamina floating or emergent, ovate, cordate at base. Flowers sessile, glandular-hairy, borne in a spike, surrounded at base by a spathe and dilated petiole of a terminal leaf. Perianth: tube 5-12 mm long; lobes 6, white, blue or purple. Stamens 3, exserted. Capsule enclosed by persistent perianth. |
