Inflorescences of leaf-opposed umbels; bracts similar to stipules. Flowers 4-merous. Sepals 4, deciduous. Petals 4, oblanceolate, white or purplish. Stamens numerous, with nodose filaments. Ovary 4-5-locular. Capsule dehiscent, ellipsoid, covered with rigid bristles.
