Description of the genus

Terrestrial herbs with leafy unbranched stems. Flowers resupinate, usually bright orange (sometimes yellow or greenish-orange). Sepals free, the dorsal sepal forming a hood with the petals. Lip entire or 3-lobed, spurred. Column erect. Rostellum large.

Worldwide: 17 species in tropical Africa and Madagascar
