Harrisonia R. Br. ex A. Juss.

Description of the genus

Trees or shrubs; the trunk sometimes with corky bosses bearing prickles; branches bearing spiny stipules. Leaves imparipinnate, not crowded at ends of branches; leaflets with 2-7 opposite pairs; petiole and rhachis winged. Inflorescence a terminal or axillary panicle. Sepals and petals 4-5. Fruit a 4-5-lobed berry with 4 or 5 seeds.

Worldwide: 3-4 species in tropical Africa, SE Asia and tropical Australia
