Description of the genus

Trees, evergreen or briefly deciduous; leaflets in 3−4 pairs; flowers borne on terminal panicles, petals 5, white, small and subequal; pod large, woody, mostly brown tomentose.

Worldwide: c. 6 species in Africa, 2 species in the Flora Zambesiaca region, 2 species in Zambia.

Burundi: 3 taxa.
